Market East is following up their triumphant return single “Roses” with the dreamy “Circles of Time.” Hear it wherever you get your music now. The Philadelphia harmony group create a hypnotizing sonic landscape reminiscent of Brian Wilson, only if he had spent a summer in Brazil listening to cosmic country records with Quarteto Em Cy.

Overtop of this mesmerizing backing, the two and three part harmonies the group are known for truly shine. Vocalist Kurt Cain and drummer/percussionist Maxwell Perla start the song in a soaring two part vocal harmony, while bassist/guitarist/keys player Vincent John joins on the low register midway through. The lyrics are nostalgic and impressionistic, and evoke the feeling of being young and finding one’s place in the world. Nashville legend Russ Pahl washes over the track on psychedelic pedal steel guitar, and Brazilian seeds and cuica build the arrangement to its climax. In less than three minutes, the group touches upon chamber pop, soul, doo-wop, country, Americana, world music, and psychedelia, creating a sound both intoxicating and fresh.

“Circles of Time” was produced by Market East and Eraserhood Sound, and was recorded to analog tape in Philadelphia. This is just the beginning of the group’s comeback - stay tuned for more music and a major announcement coming soon.
